Spell Check and Grammar Check
Should you use spell check? Certainly. Should you use your grammar checker, assuming you have it installed on your computer? Certainly. Keep in mind, though, that a spell checker and/or a grammar checker is only as good as the guy using it: See this letter that has been spell checked and grammar checked. When I mark a grammar error, you can be certain that I didn't use a grammar checker to determine it! another another

- Elements of Style by Strunk and White: This is a tried and true reference. It makes rules of American grammar just about as simple as they can be. It gets rid of many of the "or you can. . . . or you can . . . .etc." If you use it, you will never be wrong. Others might not do it the same way, but you'll never be wrong.
- Info Please - a good research for punctuation. If in doubt, go with Strunk and White.

- Lunsford Top Twenty: a list of the twenty most common errors along with an explanation of why they are worth checking for in your writing. Click on the numbers on the left for explanatory notes and examples.
- Grammar Slammer: take a look. What I saw was good for concise and clear explanations.
