Class Calendar

Extra credit: Go to freerice.com. Print a sheet the first time it says, "You have just donated 20 grains of rice." Then work with the vocabulary and print the last sheet. [One of my computers keeps track of how many grains of rice I've done even if I go out of the site and turn the computer off. The other does not. I have no clue what yours will do, but if you print both sheets, I can tell what you've done.] One point extra credit for each 1,000 grains of rice. A parent/adult must sign and date that YOU did this extra credit. I will take these only on Fridays. No more than 30 points extra credit of any and all kinds .per marking period.

Extra credit: Go to the Writing page and click on the first link, Argument. Read that and bring me in a list of 5 things you learned. [Up to 5 points, depending on what you say] Due not later than Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Taken only on Fridays.

Very important for this class: Questioning with Bloom - levels of thinking/questioning

Honors or standard, what is the difference? See what the state of North Carolina says. Though each class is taught according to the students involved [No two classes will be exactly alike because no two classes have the same students.], state regulations insist that the teacher keep these characteristics in mind if a course has the designation of "honors."
